Profession: Right of Way Project Manager (Michigan, USA)
What we are looking for…
Our team is seeking a natural leader who is a self-starter and has demonstrated an ability to lead, manage and facilitate projects along with a proven ability to conduct professional, organized and efficient land acquisition work. The primary focus for this role will be to provide leadership and project management on Evolve’s acquisition projects across the state of Michigan. Along with being project management you will also be expected to provide effective public consultation and acquisition of surface rights, demonstrated in an ethical and professional manner. The successful candidate will participate in planning and managing new projects, along with providing on site leadership to our field team executing Evolve’s Right of Way projects.
Responsibilities would include:
- Plan, execute, monitor, and close projects within the defined scope, timeline, and budget.
- Define project requirements and deliverables and develop project plans and schedules.
- Create and maintain project budgets, track project expenses, and report on project financials.
- Manage project risks and issues, and develop contingency plans as needed.
- Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure project success.
- Lead and motivate project teams, and assign tasks and responsibilities as needed.
- Ensure all project documentation is complete and accurate, and that project files are properly maintained.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates to clients and stakeholders.
- Conduct project post-mortems and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Review and approve timesheets, expenses and project update notes
- Training of team members as required to support specific client teas or identified mentorship programs
- Maintain strong working relationship with other PM’s to support/load share/complement each other for the benefit of Clients and Company
- Identification of strengths\misses\issues\areas of improvement and implementation of steps to address each within client teams and within the division and company as a whole

What we require…
- Resides in the State of Michigan and able to work in our Mason Michigan office
- Minimum of 4 years experience in Land Acquisition
- Minimum of 2 years in Project Management or a leadership position within industry
- Proven ability to organize, plan and manage projects to ensure all stakeholder needs are met throughout the project timeline.
- Effective track record of contribution to project and business success
- Comfort and competent with technology-based update and project management systems (ie. Mapping/GIS , spreadsheets, emails etc.)
- Strong consultation and negotiation skills when engaging stakeholders to facilitate land access
- Experienced with a variety of land rights, licenses, leases, permits, and other real estate rights necessary for the origination, development, construction, operation, and maintenance of project facilities
- Strong understanding of non-government and government agency needs in support of the land acquisition and permitting processes
- Proven ability to understand survey, engineering, and construction plans
- Ability to complete land title research, including interpretation of title and abstracts
- Comfortable and versed in various community engagement platforms such as open house settings and agency presentations
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications including Power Point, Word, Excel and Outlook
- Professionalism in handling confidential and sensitive information
- Willingness to work in the field for extended periods of time and coordinate travel logistics
